A friend alerted me to some new street art in Chichester a few months back so I thought I'd take the opportunity today to photograph them both. As it happens both are paintings of cats, although they're very different in scale. In North Pallant I found an imposing picture called King of Cats by the Belgian artist Joachim. He seems a bit lost in this quiet side street and I can't help feeling he deserves a spot in a more heavily populated area.
Just a few hundred yards away, in West Pallant the other feline, this one by the artist JPS, is on a much smaller scale, standing no more than knee height. I took a couple of close ups but felt these didn't really give a sense of size so I waited a couple of minutes for some shoppers to come walking by. I'm not usually one for colour popping photos but in this situation it seemed appropriate to focus one's eye on this small but perfectly formed piece of street art.
