Our holiday in Derbyshire in April seems a long while ago now, but my photos are a colourful reminder of our day at the National Tramway Museum at Crich. I last visited when I was a teenager so it was good to return and see how things have changed. The museum’s collection of old trams has expanded over the years so it was fascinating to explore the sheds to see trams undergoing restoration as well as the rest of the fleet.
Trams sleeping peacefully…
The museum has a rare K1 telephone kiosk - the predecessor to the classic red telephone boxes.
The Red Lion pub was rescued from certain demolition in Stoke-on-Trent and painstakingly rebuilt at the museum. Definitely worth the effort to save that beautiful tiled frontage.
