I always like to visit unfamiliar cathedrals when I can so it’s surprising it’s taken me this long to get to the one in Brecon, considering I teach in Wales several times each year.
When I arrived they were still getting ready to welcome visitors so I took a stroll through the graveyard, making the most of the dappled sunlight percolating through the trees.

Once inside I spent an hour or so exploring every corner of the Cathedral. It’s not a vast building, but I found plenty of interesting details at which to aim my camera.
The play of light on some of the ornately carved woodwork was particularly lovely, as shaft of sun illuminated some the choir stalls and screens.
