The reason for my visit to Nottingham yesterday was to see one of my pinhole photos in ‘Obscura’, an exhibition of alternative processes by female photographers at The Carousel. Naturally I took a pinhole camera along to document the exhibition – I could hardly use a digital camera to do so!
It was wonderful to see so many different types of photography on show, but my favourites were undoubtedly a groups of cyanotypes printed on the inside of eggshell by Kelly Barfoot.
After I’d finished at The Carousel I headed off into Nottingham to seek out some food and some more photographic subjects. The historic architecture in the old lace making quarter were beautiful and I managed to catch a tram heading up the hill on Victoria Street.

Elsewhere I met a street photographer who was busy creating a mural. He kindly allowed me to take a slow photo of him in action, capturing artmaking in progress.
